Finding Meaning and Purpose Following Wrongful Incarceration: A Workshop for Exonerees

Location: Chula Vista
Date: Fri, April 8
Time: 11:45 AM - 1:00 PM

This is a closed workshop for exonerees. In a safe and healing environment, exonerees will explore their lives following their release from prison. They will be encouraged to use a strengths-perspective as they explore new life meaning and purpose, answering, "where do I go from here?" Particular attention will be given to healing, identity transformation, and goal setting. Because there is power in re-framing suffering into meaningful action, exonerees will also explore ways in which they can use their new life energy helping others. Multi-media techniques will be used; and exonerees will leave the session with resource material to take with them as they continue their journey of recovery. Three exonerees will share their stories to help illustrate the process.
