Jay Brandon is the first chief of the Conviction Integrity Unit of the Bexar County, Texas District Attorney's Office. Jay began his legal career as a briefing attorney at the Court of Criminal Appeals. After two years in the D.A.'s office Appeals Section he was a staff attorney at the Fourth Court of Appeals. He then spent twenty years in private practice, representing defendants in appeals and both state and federal death penalty writs. He returned to the District Attorney's Office in 2011 and after four years in the Appeals Section was chosen as chief of the newly-created conviction integrity unit.
