Mark Hale has been a prosecutor in the Kings County, New York District Attorney’s Office since November 1983. In 2014 Hale was appointed chief of the office’s newly formed Conviction Review Unit. To date, the unit’s investigations have resulted in 14 exonerations, garnering national attention for the scope and innovation of its review of problematic prosecutions. For 25 years prior to his current assignment, Hale worked as a trial assistant and supervisor in the office’s Homicide Bureau, prosecuting almost 200 jury trials to verdict. Hale graduated from Kent State University and Ohio State University’s Michael. E. Moritz College of Law.
